'New iPad' And Heat Issues
« on: March 20, 2012, 02:04:59 PM »
Anyone having overheating problems with their New iPads?  Anyone getting a black screen with 'Temperature' on it requiring you to cool the tablet down?

Not me. Watched movies on it and it seems ok. Any specific apps running on it continuously that causes this?

I don't have the new iPad, but when I play infinity blade II on my iPad 2, it gets kinda hot after 1/2 hr or so of playing. So I can just imagine how this game will punish this new iPad...

A number of sites as well as Consumer Reports and CNET have done testing and apparently while the New iPad does get a bit warmer than the iPad 2 it is still within normal operating parameters.  Apple has put out a statement saying it's a non-issue and that while perhaps warmer than previous iPads while playing CPU intensive games etc it still falls within their operating temp guidelines.  Looks like this won't be a 'heat-gate' like what happened with 'antennae-gate' with the iPhone 4.

Yeah I know! They'll soon tell you that you're holding the iPad the wrong way and that's why you can feel how hot it really/actually gets.
